Rylee turns TWELVE!

Happy Birthday to my sweet smiley Rylee! Twelve years ago you came into this world and changed my life forever. Being your mom has been the greatest blessing I could have ever asked for and never knew I needed. You are as beautiful on the inside as you are on the outside and to know you is simply to love you. I am so blessed to call you mine.

This past year you completed your first year of middle school and what an amazing year it was. You transitioned so well to a new school while instantly becoming more independent, more responsible, more social, and excelling in every subject at school. Your teachers absolutely adored you (not surprised) and you created so many new friendships. You wrapped up sixth grade with all A’s & B’s and received a Beck Bulldog award in science (you have to be chosen and invited to the award ceremony). To say we are proud of you would be an understatement!

I love your love for family, friends, Jesus, volleyball, animals, and organizing. You still have the most sensitive heart and care so deeply for others. It makes me so happy to see you lean on Jesus through the good and challenging times. I pray that you continue to grow your relationship and continue to place your faith in Him. Quality over quantity definitely shows in your friend group and I am so proud of the friends you select to be apart of your life. You attract people just like you – kind, caring, trustworthy, honest, respectful, loyal, and positive. This year volleyball has become a new passion for you since starting middle school. Even though you are a beginner to the sport you have shown tremendous growth, determination, and hard work while practicing for 7th grade tryouts. I am so proud of how much time you are putting into volleyball with camps, open gym, and practicing outside by yourself. I pray the coaches see what I see in you and we get to cheer you on this new school year!

This summer we planned a family vacation to the Atlantis in the Bahamas a week before your birthday. It was an amazing trip where we spent some much needed quality time together doing all the things… water rides, aquariums, snorkeling, swimming, collecting seashells, and an encounter with dolphins. The dolphin experience was a BIG surprise! You immediately started crying tears of joy and told us over and over how thankful you were. I have never seen you happier. It brought me so much joy watching you interact with the dolphins and seeing you so happy. It was a moment we will never forget and a dream I am so happy that we could make happen.

It is definitely bittersweet watching you grow up but what a fun age the “tween” years are – beginning to wear makeup, skin care being a top priority, texting with friends, trying out new fashion trends, and all the selfies. Even though you are growing up right before my eyes you are my little best friend who still likes to spend time with me, thinks I’m funny, hold my hand in public, play games, go shopping, ask me for advice, get tucked in every single night, and always makes sure we pray together. I hope our sweet bond last forever because I cherish every minute I spend with you. Rylee, you are so easy to celebrate and we wish you a year as happy as you make us. We love you more than all the dolphins in the world!

Just like that my baby girl is 12! Happy Birthday to my sweet Rylee Lynn :) Started the day waking up to birthday gifts and McDonalds breakfast (her request). Went shopping, Torchys for lunch, volleyball camp, and a sleepover with her cousins. It was a fun day celebrating our special girl! :)

Rylee requested a pool birthday party with all her school friends. It got postponed due to the rain but it all worked out and she had a blast. They swam, played beach volleyball, and ate all the snacks.
Smiley face party for our Smiley Rylee :)
