Rylee absolutely LOVES kindergarten, her teacher, her friends, and learning. She is settling in extremely well to her new school routine. I love when she comes home telling me all about her day, new things she learned, the new library book she checked out, what she ate at school when she gets to get a tray, who she played with, who got in trouble, who her boyfriend is lol, etc. Every evening we have special time with with her to practice her sight words and read. She has done extremely well with them! She has even started to begin reading! She enjoys reading at bedtime with us and asks us what does this say while spelling out words everywhere we go. Love this stage! She is so little but is such a BIG girl! When we drop her off in the car line the little helpers come to the car to open the door and always ask, "do you need help?" She always responds, "I got this!" :)
I am so so proud of our big girl! Her favorites right now are (still) horses, kitty cats, farm animals, riding her bike and scooter, going to camp, 'reading' her books, practicing her sight words, building things with her legos or tinker toys, school, and going to Target (my girl). The things she dislikes include going to timeout, when someone is crying, when she has to stop playing, bugs, picking out her own clothes (unlike her little sister), and sweets (she is surprisingly not a big sweets eater - I think because she is scared she will get a tummy ache). She has the sweetest heart and is always happy, making us laugh, and full of energy. I love this little girl so much. She has the best personality and is my favorite five year old in the world!
Love this beautiful little girl <3
Sooo proud of my girl for getting this award from school! She was super excited to show me! She said she was the line leader because she was being good, sitting criss cross applesauce, and had a bubble in her mouth :)
Sweet sisters dressed in their patriotic wear for Constitution Day!
Granny & TomTom came to visit for a few weeks and the girls enjoyed every minute of it!
Enjoyed eating lunch with my big Kindergartner for the first time! She was so excited to see us and maybe even more to get her first tray ;) The entire time during lunch her classmates/friends were waving and yelling, "Hi Rylee S.!" and she was waving back saying hi while telling me all her friend's names and also telling me which kids were bad lol. Little Miss Social! :)
Happy October! The girls have been counting down to this month so they can finally wear their Halloween clothes, pick out pumpkins, and trick-or-treat!
Ready for school picture day!
Walk to school day! The firetruck was out front and they loved getting to go inside and sit on it!
Kindergarten Open House! Rylee was so excited to show me around at her school. She led me straight to her classroom and I got to see her seat, all her work, stations in the room, talk to her teacher, and she got to see/say hi to all her sweet little friends. Mrs. H said she is doing great and exceptionally well in math! So proud of my big girl!

Happy New Year!
And because I don't want to forget, here are my current favorite things Rylee says at the age of 5...
- "be patient!" (when talking to me)
- "terrifded"
- hambooger
- "Will you ever forget me?" "You still love me, right?" (when she is in trouble) <3
- "You'll always be in my heart." <3
- Rayna told Rylee sorry for pushing her bike into her. After she said it Rylee said, "It's ok but don't do it ever again, ok? Say ok, Rayna and yes ma'am."
- I asked her what she is going to be when she grows up and she responded, "I'm going to be a cowgirl. I just know it!"
- "I don't have much day!" (I don't have all day)
- "Packpack" - backpack
- "lasterday" - yesterday
- "My nickel hurts!" - pointing to her ankle ;)
- "There's a skidmark on my face!" LOL - she noticed she had some leftover breakfast on her cheek when getting ready in the mirror.
