It all started when Mike and I went to my 40 week appointment Monday morning, July 23rd, to find out that Rylee was still doing great! Since I was already 4 cm dilated, 80% effaced, still head down, and in a -2 position my doctor suggested that I go ahead and get induced the following morning!! I was torn between waiting until Rylee wanted to come on her own or getting induced but we decided to go ahead and get induced since my doctor would be leaving Wednesday for a week to go on vacation. She scheduled us to arrive at 5:30am with our bags packed at the hospital the next day (which is on her actual due date-July 24th)! The minute we left the appointment I suddenly had a rush of emotions come over me. I was nervous, anxious, excited, and happy to finally get to meet my sweet baby girl the next day! That night Mike and I got NO sleep at all...I woke up at 3:30am the next day to begin the best day of my life.
We arrived at 5:30am so I could get all ready for the big day. The nurse said I was still only dilated 4cm but that I was having contractions on my own that were 2-4 minutes apart (which I did not know), so she gave me pitocin to help the contractions move along. I got my IV and later on my epidural which quickly numbed me from the waist down. My doctor came in to break my water at 8:30am and at that time I was dilated 5cm, 90% effaced, and almost at a 0 position. She then came back later at 10:45am to tell me I was dilated to 7cm and in a 0 position. At noon my nurse checked me and I was dilated to 9cm, 100% effaced, and a +1 position. At 12:30pm I was completely dilated and ready to push! I began pushing until they told me to stop because she was very close and they had to call my doctor to come in. My doctor was called at 1:20pm and at 1:37pm on July 24th I heard the sweetest cry and was introduced to our little miracle we had made. Words can not express the overflowing emotion I had when I held Rylee for the first time. Mike held it together for the most part and was just grinning from ear to ear; while tears of joy streamed down my face as soon as she entered the world. At that very moment I immediately felt an indescribable love for her that I never knew existed. We are head over heels in love with this sweet girl and are loving every moment with her.

We are now a family of three and we could not be any happier. Rylee has been with us for an entire week now and I honestly could not imagine my life without her. She has put more joy in our lives then I could have ever asked for. We are beyond blessed with our perfect little baby girl. I cannot believe she is already one week old.
Thank you God for this amazing gift you have given us.
