Rylee is at the best age right now. She tells me all the time she is NOT 5 but 5.5 (basically almost 6). When and how did she grow up so fast? Currently, Rylee is still into horses, cats, soccer, riding her bike, drawing/coloring, reading, and swimming (no floaties this year - she's a little fish!). I cannot believe she is halfway into Kindergarten already and on her way to first grade this fall. She loves school so much, enjoys learning new things, and all her little friends in class. She is still my sensitive hearted little girl with big emotions and wears her heart on her sleeve. We are working on her not getting upset about EVERYTHING (ex: her sister being a cat, getting a mark from school, not brushing her teeth first, etc.). She is very spunky, fast at everything, bubbly, bouncy, chatty, and full of life. I love everything about this sweet big girl of mine! <3

Ready to play! Rylee played great and scored her first goal of the season!
First "sister sleepover" and they could not be more excited!
Rylee had the {dreaded} procedure of removing her adenoids and getting tubes. She was a champ! I was surprised how happy she was the entire morning (from waking her up at 5:50am to waiting to walking back with the doctor all be herself). I could not be more proud of my big brave girl. Praying this does the trick and she has NO more ear pain or ear infections.
Thanks Granna for coming! Daddy was on a work trip in Singapore so Granna came to help and it was a huge blessing for the both of us!
Walked back with the doctor to listen to the special story before 'falling asleep'. She looks SOOO big here. There were absolutely NO tears, just smiles :) Mommy held it together the entire time until this point when I teared up (I made sure she didn't see me).
Curled up with Mommy during recovery watching Trolls and eating a purple Popsicle.
All ready to go home with her special monkey the doctor gave her. They even had a matching bandage!

Mother's Day with my little beauties <3
I cannot believe Rylee is officially done with Kindergarten! I feel like I was just walking her into school on the first day, giving her a big hug, and wiping my tears away as I walked home. So thankful for such a wonderful teacher that loved, taught, and cared for my sweet girl all year long. She has grown so much and I am so proud of how hard she worked. Reading did not come easily for her, but with lots of patience and practice it clicked! She loves to read and is on level! Math was definitely her favorite and strongest subject (same in preschool). Writing was not her favorite but she has made a tremendous improvement and now actually enjoys writing. She made so many friends, came home with so many funny stories, went on her first field trip, and made so many wonderful memories. This year flew by and now I have a first grader. Crazy! Dream big, sweet girl. Anything is possible when you set your mind to it.
Last soccer game of the season!
Swim party/awards with her team :)
Celebration of Learning at school! Rylee was so excited to have all three of us there. She showed us all her work from this year, sang songs (her favorite is Party Animals), had cookies/juice, received an award for completing Kindergarten, and showed us her award for knowing her 100 sight words! So proud of our girl :)

Favorite things Rylee says at this age:
*I love all the things she says, how she says them, and when she mispronounces some words ;) That is why I keep a record of all my favorite little phrases she says that I want to remember but it is something we need to work on her with since she is now six. After this Kindergarten year we noticed she has a hard time saying her R's (usually just does not say them in a word - for example: Disney Wold) and stutters some when talking (especially when she gets excited). I started to tell her to slow down, think about what you want to say in your head, then tell us when you are ready so you don't repeat yourself. It is something we still have to remind her often and sometimes she apologizes for saying a word more than one time. It breaks my heart that she does that and I quickly reassure her it is ok and will get better with practice. Her teacher also noticed she sometimes did 'baby talk' in her classroom with some words (ex: pack pack instead of back pack). She was the youngest in her kindergarten class and did not struggle with it all year, mainly towards the end we began to notice it. Not a huge concern but got her evaluated for speech over the summer break and she qualifies (right on the edge of being ok without it or benefiting with some help) so we are going to go ahead and place her in speech for first grade to help her with those couple areas of concern. Hoping to see some big improvement this new school year!
- "I'm tough stump!" (tough stuff)
- "It was on accidents"
- "I'm filled with love!" - morning of Valentines Day <3
- "Mommy, let me make you up!" (play makeup)
- "Strawberry cork cake"
- "Amimals"
- "scarified"
- "llama lizard" - iguana
- "Stummy ache" - tummy ache
- "On real?" - for real
- "spring cheese" - string cheese
- "My heart is so happy right now" - while playing with Rayna <3<3<3
- "When I grow up I am going to be a farmer, barrel racer, and a veternarian!"
- "Sure not" - when asked a question and the answer is no.
- "Mommy, can you help me write a questionmation mark?" (confuses question mark and exclamation mark lol)
- When she was gargling water in her mouth I asked her what that was called and she responded, "juggling" :)
- "Does everyone have a mom? What happens when they die? Where do they go?" Told her about Heaven and she asked, "Is there food there? Cheese? Grass? I bet there is glitter or golden on the floors!" :)
- Rylee says she likes a little boy in her class named Carter. He gave her a bobo on her arm at school then told me the next day, "Carter likes me now. He said he was sad about my bobo."
- Me - "will you stay five forever please?" Rylee- "No!" Me - "Why do you want to be six?" Rylee - "because I am going to come into a grown up, help you do stuff, play the mouse game by myself on the ipad, and goto first grade!"
- "Mommy, Rayna said a bad word!" She whispers to me, "She said I hate chickens!"
- While making her eyebrows go up and down I asked her what she was doing and she said, "I'm making them rivery!" I laughed and she said, "It's like I am rolling my eyes but don't worry I'm really not."
