Rayna {fall 2018}

At three years old this cutie is my little sidekick who keeps me on my toes and always keeps me smiling/laughing. She is a bundle of energy who is very dramatic! She loves to play dress up, pretends to be a princess, carries multiple accessories wherever she goes, talks nonstop, her sister's biggest fan, and is the cutest little thing and she knows it ;) She is such a big girl now! So independent and going to preschool now (three days a week for half a day). She is doing GREAT in school! Her teacher tells me everyday when I pick her up that Rayna is doing wonderful. plays well with her friends, and loves to work! She also said that she is, "unbelievable" (in a good way)! I was so excited to hear how well she was doing and told her how proud I was of her. She replied, "duh!" ;)

Favorite sayings:
  • "Hi darling!" - quotes Fancy Nancy daily
  • "Why are you so cute, Rayna?" She tells me, "because it just makes sense!"
  • "Mommy, if you let me ____, I will be your best friend!"
  • When I asked her to go teetee she kept telling me, "well how about I put my princess dress on first then go teetee?" I told her no then she said, "You're ignoring me!"
  • Princesses poop rainbows.
  • "Rayna, show me your muscles!" (and she did) "Where did you get those big muscles from?" She responded, "I found them at Target!" :)
  • "See ya, I don't want to be ya!"
  • "I like to jump in the rain aisles!" (aka rain puddles)
  • Rylee - "God made me fast!" Rayna - "God made me slow!"
  • What did you do at school today? Rayna, "We did all the God things!" :)
  • "I'm stressing me out!" - during the Princess Matching game (She takes it pretty seriously. If she does not get Ariel there are ALWAYS tears & fits!) #dramaqueen
  • Found a ladybug in Rylee's bed so told the girls to make a wish before setting it free. Rylee wished for a real horse. Rayna wished for a sleepover at the princess castle <3
  • "I look bootiful today!"
  • You do not get a snack later today if you do not finish your lunch. Rayna responds, "I don't really care because I don't even want a snack."
  • At preschool drop off she got so excited and said, "I just love school and want to stay here all the minutes!" :)
  • One, two, skip a few, 99, 100!
  • That lady called me baby. Im not a baby. I'm Rayna. No, I'm Princess Rayna!
  • When making outfit, shoe, or accessory choices - "any many mini mo"
  • "Did you go outside today at school, Rayna?" she replied, "No, it was too shinny!"
  • On the way home from school Rayna said, "today at school I chewed on my backpack." I said, "that is gross...do not do that." She replied, "Well Kate always chews on her little blanket all the days!" {true}
  • Light turned green (not one second later) and Rayna yells from the backseat, "green means go!"
  • "Definitely No!" - when responding or answering any yes/no question
  • Like always I reminded Rayna no jumping on the couch as soon as she sat down for a movie. She immediately responded, "Do you see me jumping?" (this girl! always has a response to everything lol)
  • "No way, Jose!"
  • "I'm starving! That means I am really hungry."
  • "Do I ever going to grow up? I want to be a grown up like you and Elsa."
  • Telling her what Thanksgiving means and I asked what are you thankful for...she said, "I am thankful for princesses, Disney World, and definitely my family and teachers and Mali. Oh, and dress up dresses!"
  • "Rayna, buckle your seatbelt both top and bottom." (she prefers to do it herself) "I did, mommy!" "No, buckle the bottom too." "I did...it's magical! You just cannot see it buckled."
  • "Rayna, why did you not wait until your green light came on to wake up?" She responds, "welllll, I just wanted to tell Rylee that I love her and my light was taking 100 billion hours!"

Meet the teacher and find your room day. She loved every second and did not want to leave!
The night before preschool (tradition)! She is so stinking excited! :)
Rayna's very first day of Preschool! Cannot believe my baby girl is old enough to start school but she is more than ready! Ever since Rylee started first grade (four weeks earlier than her), Rayna asks every morning if it is her first day of school. The morning of school she held my hand the whole way into class, walked into her room like she owned the place, showed off her pretty pink nails & princess backpack, hung her backpack, found her name (with a little help from Ms. Cindy) and put it on the board, and began to play with the doll house. I gave her a big hug and kiss then told her to be a good girl and have fun. She said, "I love you Mommy and you be a good girl too and have fun at Target!" LOL - I definitely teared up leaving her there but I know she is in great hands and will have the best day. Bittersweet - my last baby on her very first day of school. What a big girl! <3
Rayna & her princess bear. The first day of preschool all the kids are allowed to bring a bear to school so she was excited to bring Ariel the Bear! :)
Walked right in...

Rylee {fall 2018}

My big first grader! Rylee is loving school, her friends, and her teacher! She is very social and outgoing but at times it has gotten her in trouble with chatting with friends. We are working on remembering to only talk when at recess, when the teacher allows, or when raising your hand. It's a work in progress but she is doing better. (Just like her daddy - super talkative! He thinks she will be in sales like him when she grows up lol). During the first week of school she was asked to be a "Friendly Falcon" (which is only offered to a handful of kids to act as a leader/role model to younger children at school. To say I was proud would be an understatement!) She has been working very hard on reading and her sight words. Sometimes, she still gets frustrated or upset if she cannot read all the words but we are working through it. So proud of how far she has already come with reading! She enjoys math and has gotten very good at counting and adding. I got her very first real graded math assignment sent home the second week of school - 93!!! Her first progress report came home in September and she got all A's!!! I know they all won't be the same but we made a big deal about it. At recess Rylee enjoys catching love bugs the entire time and befriending kids at the "buddy bench" who do not have anyone to play with. I just LOVE this sweet girl of mine! Her teacher LOVES Rylee and says that she is so sweet, genuine, and has a wonderful personality! (all traits I was aware of but very happy to hear from her someone else).

Favorite Sayings or things I do not want to forget:
  • Found a ladybug in Rylee's bed so told the girls to make a wish before setting it free. Rylee wished for a real horse. Rayna wished for a sleepover at the princess castle <3 I hope they always dream big!
  • That teacher learns us! (teaches us)
  • We went to sprit night at No Label Brewery (awesome location btw!) and when we were getting ready to leave to go back home Rylee came up to us and with a sad face said, "Akram (a boy from her classroom) told me he was coming tonight to play with me and he did not show up." :( I asked her, "Is he cute?" and she got a big smile and said, "Yes, he's cute!" :) I asked, "Is he good at school?" and she said, "Yeah, but he lies because he told me he was coming tonight and he did not."
  • "Daddy, don't forget after Santa comes that you promised to come to school to be another watch dog! A promise is a promise!"
  • Talking to Rayna, "calm yourself down!"
  • I told Rayna if she does not quit throwing a fit and crying then she would not get a happy meal. Rylee chimed in (with the most serious voice), "So will she get a sad meal instead?"
  • "Daddy, you are not really good at drawing hearts but I still like it."
  • "That car had no lid!" (convertiable car)
  • Brand New Man song by Brooks & Dunn came on the radio and Rylee asked, "Is Daddy a brand new man?"

Rylee's first concert - Taylor Swift!!! Had the best night! Rylee had so much fun singing and dancing with her cousins. She could have gone without the big fireworks, fire, and LOUDness of the concert lol but brought the ear plugs that seemed to help. She loved every second if it and we made the most amazing memories together. Love this sweet big girl of mine! <3

My puuurty girls at the pumpkin patch! :)
50th day of school and 50 days smarter! Rylee was excited to tell me what she learned about the 50's: people did not watch movies like us, instead they watched it on a square with legs with no remote! People did not have a phone like us, they had something called a telephone that had a long cord ad then she went on to say, "You definitely could NOT bring that to a farm!"
Celebrating with root beer floats or as Rylee screamed as loud as she could after school at the play ground, "I had a beer float today and it was delicious!" ;)
Fun day at the farm!

First tooth is gone - November 4, 2018
Her first tooth became wiggly a couple weeks ago. But this morning it was super wiggly and needed to go! After a few tears and being really nervous she finally got brave enough to let me pull it and it came out super quick. She smiled big with no tears and was so proud. Somehow her smile got that much cuter with her tooth missing! She is very excited for her first visit from the tooth fairy tonight!
 LOVE this sweet toothless smile :)
The tooth fairy came and brought Rylee her very own gold dollar in place of her tooth!
