Thanksgiving 2015

November...one of my very favorite months! Love how we finally get somewhat of fall weather, more pumpkins, family time, and thanksgiving (of course). Very thankful this year for my family of four (now), our health, and all our loved ones. Excited to celebrate Rayna's first Thanksgiving, Rylee's first Thanksgiving party at school, and get together with all our family for the holiday.

Had so much fun being apart of Rylee's first classroom party at her preschool. They had a wonderful Thanksgiving feast and she was the cutest pilgrim I've ever seen!!

Rayna {6 months}

Happy 6 months, Rayna Elyse! I can't believe you are already halfway to your first birthday! Where has the time gone?? We love you and your happy little personality. You are the happiest baby (just like your sister was) and have the most infectious smile that takes over your entire face, you have the most kissable cheeks, so many tickle spots, and the craziest 'Donald Trump' hair! You're the best and we can't get enough of you. Love you sweet girl!!

Measurements: You are still wearing size 2 diapers and some 3-6 month clothes but mostly 6 month clothes now. At your 6 month check up you measured 25 in long and weighed 15 lbs 14.5 oz.

Sleeping: You are still sleeping through the night (between 10-12 hrs) and occasionally will wake up if you lose your pacifier, become unswaddled, or need to be repositioned. You nap about three times a day (first nap in the morning is about 30-40 min, second nap is mid morning for a short period of time usually when we are running errands but you skip this nap at times, and the last nap is around 1pm when big sis naps for about 2-3 hrs). This month during bedtime and naptime you have gotten in a 'bad' habit of waking up and wanting Mommy to hold you while you sleep...usually happens about 5-6am in the morning and every nap lately! Working on this but for time time being I will take advantage of the extra snuggles ;)

Eating: You are now eating 4 bottles a day. You started skipping your 4pm bottle (between nap and bedtime) so we began substituting rice cereal instead. At first you were very unsure of eating with a spoon but with practice you are getting a lot better!

New Tricks/Activities/Accomplishments: 

• Learned how to eat from a spoon (ate rice cereal for the first time)
• Just discovered textures and likes touching/scratching/grabbing different things to feel them.
• Went to the zoo for the first time and had a great time!
• Found your feet
• Can sit up by yourself (for short periods of time)!!
• You know and respond to your name
• You are into everything around you that you can reach
• Getting stronger in your little gym class! You are able to now start putting your hands flat down on the mat while I hold you in a wheel-barrow.
• Went swinging for the first time and loved it!
• Went to your first pumpkin patch
• Celebrated your first Halloween (dressed up as Boo from Monsters Inc)
• Lots of belly laughs this month
• Plays with toys independently when they are in reach
• When laying on your tummy you are trying so hard to move by kicking your feet and squirming! You have not figured out how to put your knees underneath you yet...close!
• When you get excited you throw your hands up and down or throw toys ;)

Likes: 

You absoloutely LOVE your sister and watching her every move - you light up when she walks in the room, being swaddled for bedtime (still...which I am over now), running errands with Mommy & people watching, going on walks, sucking on your pacifer & thumb (when you can't find your pacifier), being outside, swinging, being tickled (cutest belly laugh), being social (you do NOT like to be alone), playing giddy up horsey, sitting up like a big girl while playing with your toys & sister, watching Mali & the fish, and being talked to.

Halloween festivities!

Holidays are the best with children. I am so excited this year for all of Rayna's firsts with the holiday season. As for Rylee, she is extremely into the holidays this year (which I LOVE). We have hit the age that she really loves, understands, absorbs, and remembers everything! Since the house is decorated for Halloween she gets so excited at every pumpkin, witch, and ghost she sees. She constantly points out the pumpkins at the pumpkin patch on the way to school everyday (since it is located right next door) and at every store. Love watching her light up! 

She came home with a pumpkin seed she had planted and was the proudest little girl ever! :)

All ready for school! She loves her Halloween dress :)

YMCA fall festival:
Love that Rayna got to wear Rylee's first Halloween costume and Rylee matched her in her big cousin's hand me down costume. Rylee was so excited to match her sister! Rylee had a blast collecting candy, saying trick-or-treat, and playing games. Rayna was a trooper and did great in the stroller the entire time...unfortunately she didn't wear her cute costume that long because she had a HUGE blow out on the way to the festival. Luckily we got a pic before we left ;) Cutest Minnie Mouses ever!!

Pumpkin Patch:
The girls loved the pumpkin patch...especially Rylee! She could not get enough of the pumpkins and was very indecisive on choosing the perfect one to take home ;)

Hangin' with the Peanuts gang!! Rylee is obsessed with the new Peanuts movie coming out soon since she keeps seeing the previews on tv. So, going to Bass Pro to take a pic with them was like a really big deal :) Love her and that big sweet smile!!

Rylee helped make and deliver some pumpkin cookies to her friends, family, and teachers!! She was sooo excited and everytime she gave them to someone she would say 'thank you'! ;)

School fall festival/Halloween:
For Halloween this year I dressed Rylee up as Sully aka Kitty from Monsters Inc and we coordinated Rayna's outfit and dressed her up as Boo (the little girl) from the same movie. Found Rylee's costume last year after Halloween for half off and at the time she was obsessed with the movie (and still is...score)! I ordered Rayna's monster hat off etsy and just put her in a purple onesie. They were the cutest little monsters I have ever seen!! :)
