Rayna turns SIX!

Happy Birthday to this little beauty of mine! I am still in denial it takes two hands to say her age now! Cannot believe you are already SIX years old. It is definitely bittersweet watching you grow up.
This past year has been a big year for you! You started kindergarten (during a pandemic) so it was a little different but you never missed a beat. Everyone had to do online learning the first few weeks at home and then you began kindergarten in person at the "big kid school". Words cannot even describe how proud I am of you. You never complained about wearing a mask everyday (you like to help pick them out and coordinate your outfits) or social distancing with friends or the fact that Mommy never was able to walk you to class, help in your classroom, or bring you lunch to school. Many things are different this year but you handled them like a pro and have been such a big girl through it all! You love to learn and are extremely smart. So impressed with your handwriting skills and spelling. My favorite thing when you get home is pulling out all of your school work and seeing your writing samples. You have mastered all your kindergarten site words, counting, adding, subtracting, and most recently beginning to read on your own.

You are the perfect combination of being extra girly (opinions on all outfits and always needing to wear all the accessories) but at the same time you are not afraid to get dirty outside and catch some lizards. You are fearless, adventurous, a leader, energetic, outgoing, and very helpful. Some of your favorites include dinosaurs, reptiles, dogs, books, puzzles, riding your bike/scooter, gymnastics, going to church, cereal, ketchup with everything, cuddling, all the night lights/blanket/stuffies at bedtime, and your big sister.

Since you were a baby you have had such a BIG fun personality! Always sassy, silly, sweet, and sarcastic. Your wittiness is unmatched, effortless, and always the perfect timing. You are most definitely the entertainer of the family and always keep us laughing. I love how much of a momma's girl you are. I treasure our special handshake, our I love you sign, and how you always seem to find a way to procrastinate bedtime to get a little extra one on one time with Mommy. I wish time would slow down but I am so unbelievably proud of the little girl you have become. You are so unique, so special, and so beautiful inside and out. Always remember how much I love you! Happy SIX sweet girl!

Rayna had so much fun at kindergarten celebrating her birthday!
Ended the day with vanilla sprinkle birthday cake!

Rayna had a great day celebrating turning SIX! Started with birthday donuts and a visit from the Birthday Elf on the Shelf. Walked her to school with her big cousins and she got a birthday hat that she wore all day. Her class sang to her and she enjoyed a special birthday treat sent from Mommy. After school we played at the park then came home to open gifts - her big gift from us was a vanity for her bedroom. Rayna and Rylee played, we went to eat Mexican food (her pick), then ended the day with cake. It was a busy and fun day for my big girl. Happy Birthday sweet girl. Hope all your wishes come true. I love you more than dinosaurs and rainbows!!! <3

Things I don't want to forget:
Rayna:
  • Why do we have veins? Is it because the blood travels through it like on vacation?
  • While tucking her into bed she randomly tells me, "When I blink I take a picture"
  • I told her I already said brush your teeth one hundred times...she whispers, "you actually only said it two times."
  • "Try to catch your breath and smell it"
  • I told her I am tired of cleaning up after you and she responded, "well...messes happen!"
  • "extra-cise"
  • "New Year, New Attitude" - she told herself this in the mirror while getting ready one morning lol
  • "I was falling apart at school today" - lots of bobos
  • "I have so many questions for God...like who's his mom? who's his dad? Does he live in a cloud"
  • "Look how fast I can run! I made a skid mark on the ground!"
  • "I was born with sticky up hair"
  • Picked up a book for bedtime and said, "Wow! This has some weight to it!"
Rylee:
  • While brushing her teeth she said, "I love water"
  • "Mommy, I love you more than horses and pickles."
